The Caboolture Area Schools Industry Links Scheme (CASILS) was formed in 1997 by a group of industry and school representatives to coordinate structured work experience placements. CASILS is managed by a committee representing the business and education community. CASILS has three main aspects to its business:
The structured Workplace Learning Program facilitates the provision of structured workplace learning opportunities to students in a real or simulated workplace
The Adopt a School Program encourages businesses to work with school(s) to engage young people in hands-on learning experiences and develop their understanding of work and employability skills

Increase school, industry and employer engagement in career development
Increase awareness of the range of vocational education and training opportunities
Improved quality and availability of career information
Facilitate industry work placements
Engage parents, teachers and career advisers in education about post school options
Manage and promote mutually beneficial relationships between schools and businesses
Enhance monitoring and mentoring arrangements for all young people
