The Career & Transition Support Program (CTS) aims to facilitate delivery of enhanced career and transition support to young people ages 13 to 19 years, and to assist all young people to make a smooth transition through school, and from school into training or employment or further study. The CTS program is designed to compliment the range of strategies, programs and activities already being implemented, at a local level.

CASILS will partner industry and professional career advisors to:

• Facilitate the provision of assistance to students to develop individual transition plans and understand work and study options
  
• Facilitate access to professional career advise
  
• Organise and monitor relevant industry placements through the Structured Workplace Learning program
  
• Manage and promote industry-led Adopt a School projects
  
• Promote vocational and technical education pathways and opportunities
  
• Enhance monitoring and mentoring arrangements of all young people, in particular year 9 and 10 students
  
• Facilitate the engagement of parents, teachers and career advisers in education about post school options
  
• Facilitate the provision of advice on youth services and programs

The Career and Transition Services Framework is a tool to assist education and training authorities, schools, community service providers, government agencies and industry bodies to plan and provide services to support young people to make successful transitions.
